With Asia increasingly vulnerable to mounting trade tensions and financial market stress, regional cooperation and integration to avoid economic fallout has become more necessary than ever. Countries across the region also need to urgently undertake collective action to tackle regional challenges such as climate change, cross-border investment, disaster, and disease control.
On 23 October 2018, ADB will launch its latest Asian Economic Integration Report, which will provide the latest progress on regional integration including on trade, financial integration, migration, and subregional cooperation initiatives. The report includes a special chapter on how to strengthen the benefits of regional action – or regional public goods - to meet common challenges.
Ramkishen Rajan, Vice Dean (Research) and Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, will deliver opening remarks, followed by a presentation on the key findings from the report from ADB Chief Economist Yasuyuki Sawada and a panel discussion with key regional experts.
A media briefing will follow the panel discussion.
The event will be streamed live via the official ADB Facebook account.Stay up to date Subscribe to our newsletter and get the latest issues, news, events, jobs and data in your e-mail inbox.
