Description
For almost twenty years, the Senior Road Executive Programme has been providing continuing professional development for senior professionals working in the road sector and, by so doing, contributed to the dissemination of knowledge and expertise and facilitated the implementation of modern approaches to the management and financing of road networks world-wide.
The programme develops a wide range of road sector knowledge and best practices covering sector reform, asset management, environment and safety. It will be held in Asia for the first time, thereby providing a special knowledge exchange opportunity for road sector professionals in the region.
Objectives
By the end of the course, the participants are expected to have acquired an understanding of the main building-blocks of road sector reforms, financing and management which are vital for roads to be sustainable, namely:
- Establishing responsibility through regulatory and institutional reform
- Providing adequate, stable and continuous financing through innovative mechanisms
- Applying fundamental asset management principles and appropriate technology for road maintenance
- Identifying appropriate policies, strategies, plans and countermeasures to improve road safety
