Description
The Women’s Finance Exchange (WFX) is a new ADB initiative to support financial institutions and their women borrowers through innovative tech-enabled solutions, digital support, and capacity building. Despite global efforts to expand access to finance, women and women’s businesses face challenges in accessing suitable and affordable financial products. Financial institutions often miss out on opportunities to service this growing segment, which has an estimated 1 billion underserved women. The COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately impacted women and women’s businesses, and reinforced the importance of a digital economy, which can accelerate gender equality.
Join us in the launch of WFX, followed by an insightful webinar showcasing how 3 private sector institutions are successfully targeting the female economy, and their lessons learned in gender-responsive financing.
Objectives
Webinar participants will join the WFX launch and will engage with the panelists as they will:
- Discuss constraints of women and women’s businesses to access finance
- Provide insights on their business models to reach the female economy
- Share lessons learned and key issues to consider for successful gender-responsive financing
