Whether it's the devastating earthquake and tsunami that struck Indonesia in September 2018 or the earthquake that hit Nepal in April 2015, increasingly frequent natural disasters throughout Asia and the Pacific are a reminder of the urgency of building and maintaining resilience against future catastrophes.
ADB is committed to achieving a prosperous, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable Asia and the Pacific, while sustaining its efforts to eradicate extreme poverty.
Established in 1966, it is owned by 68 members—49 from the region.
