Landmark Cofinancing Accord Signed by ADB and Kazakhstan (Photo Release)

ADB President Takehiko Nakao and Kazakhstan Prime Minister Karim Massimov today signed a landmark cofinancing agreement under which ADB will help the government implement its development program. The signing was held at the Opening Session of the 47th Annual Meeting of the ADB in Astana, Kazakhstan. The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, who witnessed the signing, said, “The Asian Development Bank has an important mission to improve the lives of people and thus plays a crucial role in the consolidation of the Asian region and in the unity worldwide. In turn, we assure that we will continue further fruitful cooperation with ADB and are ready to support the Bank in carrying out its noble mission.”
