BANGKOK, THAILAND - Managing the recent influx of capital inflows in Asia and its impact on exchange rates poses a key challenge for policymakers in the region, Thailand's Finance Minister Chalongphob Sussangkarn told an international conference today.

In his keynote address at the conference, "Integrating Asian Economies: 10 Years After the Crisis," Mr. Sussangkarn said while the region had staged a remarkable recovery after the 1997/98 crisis and shown strong resilience, it should stand guard against potential vulnerabilities. The conference is being hosted by Thailand's Ministry of Finance, the Asian Development Bank and Thailand Development Research Institute.
