ADB developed an approach to ensure that its operations address the specific challenges and requirements of Fragile and Conflict-Affected Situations (FCAS) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS). ADB’s vision for a prosperous, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable Asia and the Pacific cannot be fully achieved if some countries remain fragile and vulnerable.

The FCAS and SIDS Approach was launched at a high-level panel on understanding the drivers of fragility in Asia and Pacific, how to address the needs in FCAS and SIDS, and the implications on development practices in the region.

The event was held as part of the 54th Annual Meeting of the ADB Board of Governors.
