Climate change-induced avalanches, flash floods, droughts, and landslides, are becoming increasingly frequent in mountainous Tajikistan. Through the Pilot Program for Climate Resilience of the Climate Investment Funds, the Asian Development Bank has been helping the country improve resilience to extreme weather events in the Pyanj River Basin, protecting land, crops, and infrastructure, and saving human lives.
ADB is committed to achieving a prosperous, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable Asia and the Pacific, while sustaining its efforts to eradicate extreme poverty.
Established in 1966, it is owned by 68 members—49 from the region.
