Description The objective of the TA is to prepare a feasibility study for the Land Improvement Project. The broad goal of the ensuing investment Project will be to improve the rural living standards and reduce poverty in the Project areas. The Project purposes will be to improve productivity of irrigated agriculture and increase farm incomes of rural communities through low-cost land reclamation, and improved land and water management.

Consulting Services

Consultants will be recruited through an international consulting firm, following the ADB's Guidelines on the Use of Consultants. The selection of the firm will follow ADB's quality and cost-based selection method.

The TA will require a total of 15 person-months (pm) international consultants inputs: drainage engineering/land reclamation/team leader (6 pm), soil management/land improvement (1 pm), water control and measurement structures (1 pm), agricultural economy (3 pm), on-farm technologies/crop diversification (1 pm), water users/institutional development (1 pm), water sector policy (1 pm), environmental assessment (1 pm); and a total of 50 person-months domestic consultants inputs: irrigation-drainage engineering (14 pm), water resources management (2 pm), civil engineering (3 pm), electrical-mechanical engineering (2 pm), geohydrology (2 pm), land use/land tenure practices (2 pm), on-farm soil and water management (3 pm), agronomy (3 pm), agricultural economy (4 pm), water users/institutional development (3 pm), rural sociology (4 pm), povertry and gender assessment (2 pm), project impact evaluation (2 pm), and environmental assessment (4 pm).
