Description Economic and infrastructural integration at the border is critical to development of regional corridors; hence, CBEZs (or border economic zones) may be one vehicle for attracting investments and enhancing cooperation in the border areas. The proposed TA will aim to improve the capacities of GMS border towns and cities in the development and management of cross-border economic zones (CBEZs). It will strengthen the capacity of border institutions to prepare and implement the next generation corridor towns development project in 2018, while contributing to parallel GMS sector initiatives in environment, human resource development and transport, trade and facilitation.

Impact Enhanced economic and infrastructural integration of urban centers in border towns or areas for regional corridor development and cooperation in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS Urban Development Strategic Framework 2015- 2022).

During Project Design Stakeholder participation and consultation has been completed in preparing the proposed TA.
During Project Implementation Stakeholder participation and consultation will continue during implementation. Stakeholders include national and local governments, communities, businesses, urban institutions at the border areas, development partners, civil society groups and private sector.
Business Opportunities
Consulting Services ADB will engage TA consultants through a firm in accordance with the Guidelines on the Use of Consultants (2013, as amended from time to time), following quality- and cost-based selection (full technical proposal, 90:10). The firm will include seven international specialists (22 person-months) and GMS national research coordinators or associates during implementation
Procurement Goods will be procured using shopping procedure, as packages will be less than $100,000 equivalent.
