Independent Evaluation: Accountability and Learning Lessons for Development Effectiveness

The Independent Evaluation Department (IED) evaluates the policies, strategies, operations, and special concerns of ADB relating to organizational and operational effectiveness. It contributes to development effectiveness by providing feedback on performance and through evaluation lessons. Since 2004, it has reported to the ADB Board of Directors through the Board’s Development Effectiveness Committee.

This brochure provides an overview of IED, as well as its functions, activities, and resources.
