The region still needs substantial resources to fill infrastructure deficits especially in lagging areas. Many still have no access to safe drinking water and lack basic sanitation. SARD countries still experience power outages which restrain economic growth and underdeveloped transportation networks restrict the flow of people, goods, and services. Rehabilitation and better management and maintenance of infrastructure assets are essential. All of these need substantial financial resources of which participation from the private sector will be a key component, as well as knowledge. Promoting innovative technology into infrastructure and public services will reduce life-cycle costs and increase durability, improve the efficiency and quality of services, and minimize negative environmental and social impacts.

(i) Supported the preparation of proposal report for Dhaka Water Supply Sewerage Authority (Dhaka WASA), in collaboration with Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water), to improve its training center, establish its own research center, and develop an integrated water operations center. Organized a workshop to present results of study and gather feedback from relevant stakeholders.

(ii) Organized two capacity building workshops in Daejeon, Republic of Korea for officials from Dhaka WASA, in partnership with K-water.

(iii) Provided support in the conduct of Training and Knowledge Sharing on Floating Solar PV Technology in Republic of Korea for officials from Government of Bangladesh and Nepal with support from K-water.

(iv) Organized Republic of Korea-ADB Environmental Cooperation Forum for government officials of India in partnership with Korea Environmental Industry and Technology Institute (KEITI). The forum aimed to showcase technological innovations from Republic of Korea on water supply, and wastewater and solid waste management.

(v) Provided technical support to government of Uttarakhand for the preparation of feasibility study for solid waste management in Haridwar and Rishikesh in partnership with KEITI.

(vi) Provided support in the preparation of the proposed Inclusive Resilient and Sustainable Housing for the Urban Poor project in Tamil Nadu in partnership with Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation
