Economic Recovery from COVID-19: Experience from the People’s Republic of China

While effectively containing the pandemic nationwide, the measures brought the economy of the PRC to a standstill in early 2020. The rebound eventually was uneven as industry improved faster than services, household consumption dragged, and the economic recovery fell short of efforts to ensure a green recovery. Based on the experiences of the PRC, this brief provides valuable information for countries that are fighting the economic shock from the pandemic.
