The project was formulated to provide better financial access to smart green energy solutions (SGES). It addressed two key barriers affecting effective demand for SGES: the lack of affordable financing and insufficient buyer and lender awareness about SGES. The project provided loans through selected microfinance institutions to households in order for them to purchase and install affordable SGES.
