
Senior policy makers and experts discussed policy challenges and opportunities for the G7 and partners during the Think7 Japan Summit, held in Tokyo and online 27-28 April—ahead of the G7 Hiroshima Summit. Indonesia Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati called for greater G7-G20 coordination to address global challenges and promote sustainable growth while Japan State Minister for Foreign Affairs Kenji Yamada detailed the policy priorities of Japan’s G7 presidency. ADBI Dean and Think7 (T7) Japan Lead Chair Tetsushi Sonobe overviewed T7 Japan’s research-based proposals for addressing intersecting crises, reigniting sustainable development, and bridging the G7 and G20, with an emphasis on Global South collaboration. T7 Japan task force co-chairs and experts examined Ukraine’s reconstruction, gender-equitable economic growth, disarmament and non-proliferation, and other imperatives.
