The ADB Office in Singapore was established in 2020 to expand strategic collaboration.
ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa and Singapore Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote greater investment in the region and to recognize the importance of private sector finance as well as catalyzing public sector resources for sustainable and inclusive development.
Singapore is a founding member of ADB. It has provided $480.7 million in capital subscription to ADB. It has also contributed and committed $32.18 million to Special Funds since becoming a member.
ADB and its financing partners mobilized $12.9 billion in cofinancing in 2021 and worked on balancing the need to address short-term COVID-19 pandemic concerns with ensuring longer-term green, resilient, and inclusive pandemic recovery.
