Description The Project aims to (i) implement institutional reforms in the management of public utilities and environmental resources; (ii) improve the quality and availability of safe drinking water; (iii) rehabilitate and expand sewerage and sanitation system; and (iv) promote hygiene and sanitation through better solid waste management. (Piggybacked to this loan are: Management and Financial Advisory Services for the Restructuring of the Public Utilities Board; and Community Development and Participation Initiatives technical assistance.)

Business Opportunities

Consulting Services The Project Management Office and Project Implementation Units will be assisted by consultants recruited under the Project for design, preparation of bidding documents, and construction supervision. Consultants will also assist in environment monitoring and Project performance monitoring.
Procurement Contracts for the purchase of equipment will be carried out using international competitive bidding and international shopping procedures. Procurement for the main civil works contract will be carried out following international competitive bidding among prequalified contractors.
