Description The Project comprises assistance to the Government in developing urban and environmental infrastructure in urban centers through (i) provision of long-term funds through the BFIs, for financing commercially viable urban and environmental infrastructure subprojects in states and municipalities where policy and institutional reforms are being implemented; and (ii) supporting, with TA, the integration of microfinance with urban and environmental infrastructure development and management.
Objectives and Scope
Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy ADB's urban sector strategy is on improving the quality of life of people, especially the urban poor, through integrating social welfare concerns in infrastructure development, thus facilitating the country strategy of promoting efficient and sustainable economic development.

Consulting Services Not required (a technical assistance attached to this Loan will recruit the required consulting services).
Procurement For supply and installation contracts amounting to $5 million and above, civil works contracts amounting to $10 million and above, the Bank will encourage the Borrowers to require their sub-borrowers to follow International Competitive Bidding procedures. For contracts below the threshold values, the Borrowers will ensure that competitive and transparent procedures will be followed by sub-borrowers in prequalification of contractors, bid evaluation and contract award, with due consideration for efficiency, economy and speed of delivery.
