|Description||To improve agricultural support services to smallholders in the two post populous provinces of PNG namely Eastern Highlands Province and Morobe Province. This includes the establishment of a support services contract facility in each of the two provinces to increase performance-based contract services to smallholders, and capacity building for agricultural staff and service providers.|

|Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy||The Project was listed in ADB's Country Assistance Plan (1999-2001). The Project supports the Government's development program, which is in line with the Bank's operational strategy for PNG.|

|Consulting Services||Three long-term domestic (Deputy Project Coordinator, and SSCF Deputy Managers) and two long-term international (Adviser) consultants, each providing 63 person-months of services. In addition, one short-term international consultant for carrying out planning workshops will be recruited.|
|Procurement||Civil works contracts will be awarded on the basis of local competitive bidding. Supply and service contracts will be awarded on the basis of direct purchase procedure.|
