Gender Equity and Mainstreaming Gender equity
Description With poverty continuing to be the major obstacle to Bangladesh's economic growth, the provision of facilities and services to address the needs of the poor remains to be significant. The Government continues to see the potential of integrated livestock programs involving selected smallholder livestock enterprises, microcredit, and related services as a strategy to reduce rural poverty. The Project has a potential to address social issues, among others, (i) community participation in the planning and implementation of project; (ii) carrying capacity of the community and individual household and their ability and willingness to contribute to subproject costs; and (iii) gender equity issue throughout the project preparation and implementation.
