Bangladesh : Rural Infrastructure Improvement II

The TA will help the Government formulate a project proposal to enhance rural livelihoods through improved rural infrastructure, reduced rural poverty, and enhanced local governance in Bangladesh. The ensuing Project will improve rural infrastructure in 23 districts in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Chittagong divisions and increase economic opportunities for the rural poor by participating in improvement of rural infrastructure. The Project will have four key activities: (i) stakeholder capacity building and local governance improvement; (ii) rural infrastructure improvement; (iii) income generating activities for the rural poor; and (v) institutional support for effective management.

Consulting Services The TA will require 9 person-months of international consulting services and 27 person-months of domestic consulting services. The consultants will be recruited as individual consultants based on the recommendation of the team leader, who will be fielded before mobilizing the main group of the consultants and identify suitable and qualified individual consultants (up to 31 person-months) with expertise in local governance, rural infrastructure, resettlement, financial management, social development, and environment.
