Description The TA piggybacked to the proposed CAM: Commune Council Development Project will support the advancement of gender equity in local governance. It will strengthen the capacity of elected women councilors and women and children focal points (WCFPs) in six target provinces by activating women networking forums within districts and communes.
Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy The Country Strategy and Program (CSP) 2005-2009 aims at supporting the Royal Government of Cambodia to implement the decentralization and deconcentrration policy and strategy. It is part of an overall effort by ADB to promote good governace in Cambodia. The CSP also supports gender mainstreaming in the sectors and projects supported by ADB. This TA is piggy-backed to Grant 0066-CAM "Commune Council Development Project Phase 2", to provide gender mainstreaning activities.
