Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy

ADB's assistance for development of road corridors for trade facilitation has been focused on the northwest-southeast corridor, making best use of the Jamuna Bridge and the Chittagong port. With the construction of the Padma Bridge, the importance of the southwest-northeast and southwest-southeast corridors will become larger to facilitate trade.
