Objectives and Scope ADB's investment in the Fund is expected to help bridge the financing gap in the private equity industry, foster private sector development, and promote balanced and inclusive growth in the PRC.
Status of Development Objectives The Actis China team has sourced investment opportunities in a diverse array of sectors and looks to add value to its investee companies by improving corporate governance and financial management.
Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy The Fund is structured to fit into ADB's country strategy of 'making markets work better' for the PRC by (i) promoting good governance, the rule of law, and transparent regulation; (ii) developing an enabling environment for the private sector; (iii) providing infrastructure to improve the business environment; (iv) supporting financial sector reforms; (v) supporting SME development; and (vi) expanding ADB's private sector operations.
