| Description | The objective of the Project is to alleviate rural poverty and raise living standards of rural communities through increased access to basic social, economic, and income-generating activities. The outcome of the Project is to establish and prove sustainable and cost-effective community-based road maintenance system in the project area. The expected outputs are (i) generated employment and income for the rural poor through contracts for minor repair and maintenance of rural roads; (ii) improved rural roads (350 km) for access to the villages; (iii) secured sustainable access to education, health, markets, and regional economic centers; and (iv) institutional capacity building of government and non-government organizations at local levels, development of small and very small contractors and communities to manage and execute on a sustainable basis the maintenance and minor repair of rural roads. | ||||

| Consulting Services | The JFPR consultants (international and local) will be engaged individually by ADB in accordance with ADB's Guidelines on Use of Consultants, and based on a no-objection from the EA. Consulting services will be conducted over a period of 36 months, requiring approximately 15 person-months of international and 111 person-months of domestic input. The international consultant will be appointed as the Project Manager. |
