Maldives : Restoration of Livelihoods of the Tsunami-Affected Fishers and Farmers
The objective of the Project is to enable farmers in the 26 worst affected agricultural communities to restart their agricultural livelihood activities in order to raise their quality of life above pre-tsunami levels. The project also aims to incrase the participation of community based organizations (CBO) in the farming activities in beneficiary communities. The proposed components are: (i) provision of agriculture inputs and equipment, (ii) provision of working capital, (iii) training and extension services, and (iv) project management.
