Description

The PPTA will help to enhance the performance and efficiency of the water supply services for the population of Hai Phong in urban and peri-urban areas. Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy

The project is directly linked to the agenda of assisting and supporting infrastructure development and public private partnership in infrastructure from the Country Strategy and Program (2007 ? 2010). The project contributes to the Target 10 on "access to safe water supply" of the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) 7 "Ensuring Environmental Sustainability" and the corresponding Vietnamese Development Goal. The project will be included in the Water Financing Program for Viet Nam.

Impact

Improved urban livability and competitiveness in Hai Phong due to better water supply infrastructure and the sustainable provision of safe water.
