Description | RETA is designed to improve the quantity and quality of infrastructure and the delivery of water and energy utility services by conducting literature review and case study investigations into the formal and informal attributes of water nd energy regulation in several DMCs. The RETA's key activities will be (i) a literature survey of issues relating to infrastructure regulation and its reform (ii) a review of ADB's experience in the relevant DMCs (iii) specific field case research of the formal and informal policy, institutional, and regulatory framework in several DMCs (iv) at least one workshop per DMC to solicit views from stakeholders (v) external and internal peer review of the draft report of findings (vi) workshops involving relevant ADB staff to explain findings of the RETA and to consider their relevance for ADB's operational work in infrastructure policy (vii) broad dissemination of the results of the investigation through written and web based publications and workshops involving DMC officials, consumers, and investors and (viii) further strengthening of ADB's Infrastructure Regulation 101 Series of knowledge products currently under preparation. | ||||||||||||||||||
