Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy | With the intention of improving the PPP policy and enabling environment for infrastructure development through PPPs, the Government requested policy and advisory technical assistance (PATA) to support the same. Accordingly consultations were held with the Government and the Government has embarked on reforms to enable greater private sector participation in infrastructure, emphasizing the PPP modality. The TA is in line with ADB's country operations business plan, country partnership strategy, and Strategy 2020, which envisage greater ADB involvement in private sector development. | ||||

Status of Implementation Progress (Outputs, Activities, and Issues) | PPP Policy, PPP Rules, Recommendations on PPP Standard Contract provisions, and Annuity Fund Paper have been drafted. Consultants' final reports for PPP Manual, PPP Compendium, and a greenbook for PPPs in health sector have been prepared. Business plan for "3P India", a proposed national entity to provide PPP services, has been drafted. |
