Project Outcome

Description of Outcome
Progress Toward Outcome The component TA projects support ADB's India program especially in lagging states and pro-poor sectors. The cluster TA comprises component TA projects in states including Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand. Focus areas, in line with GOI and DFID priorities, such as water resources management, less-developed regions, urban poverty, and gender issues, are covered through the component TA projects. The 31 approved component TAs have the following sectoral allocation: 9 transport, 8 energy, 6 urban development, 4 agriculture and natural resources, 2 finance, 1 human development, and 1 multisector (gender). 76% of the cluster TA allocation is targeted towards poor and weak-capacity states and 71% of the cluster TA allocation has been towards pro-poor sectors.

Status of Implementation Progress (Outputs, Activities, and Issues)

Continuous interactions with GoI and DFID are held and quaterly reports are prepared in addition to the detailed Annual Review for DFID. The status of the 31 component TAs is as follows:

- All 31 component TA projects totaling $22.64 million have been approved.

- 23 component TA projects have been closed.

- $18.348 million has been contracted and $17.183 million has been disbursed.

- The completed/on-going component TAs have directly contributed to detailed project preparedness and capacity building for 20 loans amounting to $5,018 million.
