The impact of the CDTA will be sustainable shoreline protection and management to meet the needs of the stakeholders and environment.
Project Outcome
- Description of Outcome
The key outcome is the preparation of an investment program to address the coastal protection and management needs through the implementation of economically viable protection works using environmentally and socially appropriate solutions in the states of Goa, Karnataka and Maharashtra.
- Progress Toward Outcome
- The $ 250 million multi-tranche financing facility was approved by ADB board on 29 September 2010 for Goa, Naharstrah and Karnataka states: and the $ 51.5 million first tranche on 06 Octobe 2011 for Maharashtrah and Karnataka only. Since then the consukltant have been working on supporting the Executing Agencies in meeting the Government of India project readiness criteria for loan signing. Loan signing is planned for 17 august 2011.

Outputs comprise (i) sustainable shoreline management; (ii) investment program for each state including sustainable ; and (iii) financially and environmentaly sustainable coastal zone management mechanisms.

As of 15 august 2011progress in meeting loan signing readiness is as follows:
Tranche 1 civil works:
Maharashtrah: Bid for myria bay floated - technical evaluation completed and approved. Opening of financial envelop to take place.
Karnataka: Bid for ullal floatted - technical evaluation completed.
Project Management consultants:
Maharashtrah: RFP floated - Technical evaluation under completion
Karnataka : technical evaluation and finacial evaluation completed - contract signing pending.
Technical Advisory Committee cleareance granted on 20 July 2011
