Description of Outcome Improved understanding of which development strategies and policies are most effective in minimizing extreme fluctuations in the business cycle and achieving inclusive and sustained economic growth

Description of Project Outputs The outputs of the project include: (1) An analysis of the medium term and long term impacts of the global crisis on Asia (2) A reassessment of the export led growth strategy and evaluation of alternative growth strategies for Asia (3) The identification of policy recommendations for the inclusive and sustainable development of developing Asian economies and (4) A publication on feasible development strategies for Asia that take into account the impacts of the global crisis and that ensure long term sustainable development. The project is expected to be approved in December 2009 and will be implemented for 18 months.
