Regional : Promoting Links and Improving Coordination Among the GMS, the BIMP-EAGA, the IMT-GT, and the ASEAN
The R-PATA aims to promote links and improve strategic and institutional coordination between and among ASEAN and the three subregional programs in Southeast Asia, where ADB is associated with, namely GMS, BIMP-EAGA and IMT-GT. The enhanced interface between and among these groupings would limit the risk of overlap or duplication of activities. This is important given ASEAN's wide-ranging regional economic integration initiatives under the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), where the subregional programs could play an important role to support ASEAN's efforts in realizing the AEC by 2015.
