| Description | The policy and advisory technical assistance (TA) supports strategic planning and policy development, better management guidelines, and targeted associated capacity development in the water resources sector in Indonesia. | Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy | Although progress has been made with regard to institutional reform in Indonesia's water resources sector, including passage of the national Water Law in 2004, the sector is facing critical challenges as the government seeks to manage water resources and develop infrastructure in a sustainable manner in the decentralization context. The TA is in response to ongoing dialogue between the resident mission and the government, and the government's expressed need for assistance to address key policy issues in the water resources sector and to strengthen water resources management in Indonesia. This will support the Indonesia Resident Mission in Jakarta to provide strategic guidance and policy support to the Government of Indonesia, and to help coordinate and develop ADB's water program. | ||||
