Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy | The proposed Yuxi-Mohan Subregional Railway Link will provide access to an efficient, reliable, safe, environmentally friendly and affordable mode of transport for people and goods through: (i) the development of two transport and economic development hubs, at Xishuangbanna and Pu'er; (ii) the provision of electrification equipment for the Yuxi Mohan railway line; and (iii) enhanced institutional capacity by providing business opportunities, especially to women and minorities at the Xishuangbanna and Pu'er hubs. The railway will serve domestic traffic and has potential to support traffic between countries in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) in future. | ||||
