Pakistan : Sindh and Balochistan Flood Emergency Response
The Asian Development Bank has worked with Pakistan to provide the swift delivery of emergency services to people affected by flooding in the Sindh and Balochistan areas. The project provided temporary shelters and bedding to people displaced by the floods. This included the provision of 24,588 tents and 20,000 mosquito nets.

| Description | The Grant would provide for temporary shelters, bedding to protect the displaced population form approaching winter and restocking of emergency rescue stocks and equipment. | ||||
| Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy | The current flood disaster is of a scale beyond the capacity of Pakistan and its own agencies to meet the immediate expenses necessary to restore life-saving services to the affected populations. Pakistan needs help with meeting the costs of disaster management coordination. The proposed APDRF grant that can be used to help with some of the costs associated with the emergency response and address the urgently needed basic food, health and shelter need of the displaced population. The Government has requested assistance for this purpose. The Government has designated NDMA as the agency to receive the proceeds of the proposed grant, hence ensuring timely utilization of the funds and swift delivery of emergency materials and services to the affected population. | ||||
