China, People's Republic of : Industrial Development in Support of Yunnan's Outward-Oriented Economic Development Strategy
The proposed TA will assist the government to identify 3-5 characteristic industries - particularly those with potential to contribute to Yunnan's outward economic development, which is in line with the Gateway Project - and prepare a comprehensive development strategy. In the long term,the TA will contribute to advancing inclusive growth at both the provincial and national levels, and deepen regional economic integration and cooperation in the northern Greater Mekong Subregion.

| Description of Outcome | Development strategy for selected characteristic industries focusing on establishing industrial bases to support outward-oriented economic development |
| Progress Toward Outcome | The first batch of 6 consultants were contracted in October 2013. The second batch of consultans were contracted in May 2014. The whole consulting team were part of the inception workshop and mid-term workshop held in Kunming in May 2014. Following activity was field study in Ruili to make research on trade. Based on study report preparation, EA organized the mid-term report workshop in Feburary 2015 with the second-batch consultant and experts from various agencies have made evaluations on the papers. The consultants are currently revising their reports and incooporating comments from evaluation experts. |

| Status of Implementation Progress (Outputs, Activities, and Issues) | The TA completion date was extended to 30 June 2015 to complete the remaining activities: final report workshop and dissemination workshop respectively in May of 2015. The mid-term workshop for both first batch and second batch of consultant's reports evaluation have been completed. Currently, the first batch of consultants are preparing/revising the thematic final reports, while the second batch of consultants are going with their draft final reports. A general final report will be produced on the preparation of those individual reports. The final dissemination workshop was organized in May 2015 as planned. The TA has completed all its planned activities. |
