Regional : Promoting Regional Knowledge Sharing Partnerships
The TA envisions an enhanced knowledge sharing and cooperation among the People's Republic of China (PRC), Mongolia, and other developing countries in Asia and the Pacific. The outcome of the TA will be successful implementation of the Regional Knowledge Sharing Initiative (RKSI), resulting in increased awareness of best practices and emerging issues and challenges in the region and enabling improved sector policymaking and capacity building among PRC, Mongolia, and other developing member countries (DMCs) in the region. The main outputs of the TA are Knowledge Sharing Events (KSEs) including workshops on development themes and issues, publications on results of the KSE workshops and policy research work, policy advice from international experts, study tours, interactive websites on exchange of knowledge, demonstration projects on knowledge sharing, capacity building seminars, and knowledge partnership agreements with centers of knowledge excellence.

| Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy | The TA promotes regional knowledge sharing by building on gains from knowledge sharing experience in PRC and knowledge support to Mongolia. The TA enhances existing knowledge cooperation as well as regional cooperation among PRC, Mongolia, and other DMCs. The TA shares development knowledge and experiences among DMCs. The TA mobilizes resources under the same framework of cooperation, with the aim of improving the effectiveness of knowledge sharing and establishing a knowledge center of excellence serving as platform for knowledge sharing. The TA enables sharing of successful case studies and lessons learned from other DMCs through KSEs and promote networking among knowledge institutions in the region, linking the RKSI with agencies in PRC, Mongolia, and other DMCs. |

| Progress Toward Outcome | RKSI successfully supported together with its PRC and other partners: (i) the funding, design and implementation of 51 knowledge sharing events benefiting around 5,100 participants, covering regional cooperation and integration (CAREC, GMS and ASEAN+3), environment (eco-compensation and water), energy (low carbon, air quality, wind power), poverty reduction (urban poverty, rural-urban poverty linkage, food security and rural revitalization), urbanization (urban planning, urban management and urban development), fiscal reform, innovation and inclusion, economic transformation, vocational training, PPP, and social assistance; (ii) production of 8 publications and 50 video clips on air quality, urban poverty, PPP, climate change, vocational training, eco-compensation, regional cooperation and integration; (iii) the launch of RKSI website. The various activities followed the One ADB approach drawing on expertise from SDCC, ERCD, CWRD, SERD, SARD, ERCD in disseminating good practices and innovative solutions. |

The TA also financed regional knowledge sharing activities, including resource persons, international and domestic participants and the preparation and finalization of knowledge products developed in connection with these events. |
