|Status of Implementation Progress (Outputs, Activities, and Issues)||The TA is ongoing since February 2014. The TA's major activities include the formulation and provision of trainings/workshops to microfinance operators at microfinance instituions, people's credit funds and the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, and microfinance supervisors/regulators at the State Bank of Vietnam, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Planning and Investment. Annual workplan of activities is approved by the governmnet and endorsed by ADB.|

|During Project Design||Consultative meetings were conducted with the Executing Agency and other stakeholders.|
|During Project Implementation||The TA inception mission was conducted in March 2014. The kick-off workshop was organized in May 2014 for stakeholders, and the feedback has been incorporated into a draft training plan. Subsequently, the training plan has been finalized for implementation. The first training for supervisors over the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies was conducted in June 2014. Three more training sessions were organized in 2014, on microinsurance in November, on-site supervision in December and off-site supervision in December.|
|Consulting Services||The TA will provide 18 person-months of international consulting services and 27 person-months of national consulting services. The consultants will work on an intermittent basis and engaged in accordance with ADB's Guidelines on the Use of Consultants (2010, as amended from time to time). Disbursements under the TA will be made in accordance with ADB's Technical Assistance Disbursement Handbook (2010, as amended from time to time).|
