Description

The S-CDTA proposes to support DMC participation at four identified training events, as follows:

(i) Grid Integration of Wind Power workshop (to be held in Beijing, People's Republic of China, September 2013);

(ii) Asia Solar Energy Forum (to be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, late October or early November 2013);

(iii) Sustainable Energy Training: Electricity Generation and Supply - Challenges and Opportunities in Asia (to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, 25-29 November 2013); and

(iv) ADB-IEA ASEAN Regional Workshop to Develop Energy Efficiency Policy Recommendations (to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, 12-13 Dec 2013).

Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy ADB has been actively involved in initiating regional clean energy policy workshops and training, in conjunction with a range of partners also interested in building clean energy policy capacity for Asian DMCs. Attendance at training events and seminars by senior policy makers from DMCs is integral to the development of further commitment to clean energy and development of a pipeline of clean energy projects by ADB, thereby supporting ongoing growth of ADB's Clean Energy Program. This S-CDTA supports DMC attendance at upcoming events that carry in kind support and/or co-funding from other partners, including the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the Asian Productivity Organization (APO).
