Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy | Afghanistan has made remarkable progress in strengthening accountability, effectiveness and inclusiveness of state institutions since the reconstruction process began in 2002. However, a fragile security situation, political instability and fragile economy continue to hinder the state's efforts towards self-reliance, the overarching goal which guides the government's development strategies since the Tokyo Mutual Accountability Framework was introduced in 2012. | ||||||||||||
