Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy The Government of the People's Republic of China (PRC) requested ADB to provide lending support to demonstrate high efficiency water utilization in rocky desertification area in Guizhou Province. The proposed project is included in ADB's country operations business plan, 2015 2017 and the ensuing loan in ADB's 2018 lending pipeline for the PRC. Since the executing agency, GPG, and implementing agencies, ACG and NCG, are not familiar with ADB's project preparation requirements, it is necessary to provide a PPTA to help the GPG, ACG, and NCG prepare the project that complies with ADB's requirements and includes best international practices.
