Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy | The project will help Tuvalu overcome its connectivity problem that is constraining its economic and social development. The connectivity challenge results from Tuvalu's dispersed typography a small country (land area of 26 square kilometers) composing of nine islands, stretching over approximately 680 kilometers, small and dispersed population about 10,800 as of 2012, with less than 1,600 people on each of outer islands, from 2002 to 2012, outer island population was decreased by 9% while that of Funafuti increased by 37%. | ||||
