Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy ADB has explored opportunities to promote rural financial inclusion in Pakistan through an approach by linking farmers to agribusiness companies and banks to achieve both business and social impact. Consultations with the government, development partners, private commercial banks, and agribusiness companies identified the dairy value chain as a promising entry point. Providing private investment capital to promote the use of locally adapted, higher-yielding dairy cattle would enhance private, government, and development partner efforts to improve rural incomes, and farm management.
