Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy | Despite sustained growth and impressive gains in the fight against poverty over the last two and a half decades, the Asia and Pacific region continues to face many significant challenges in its goal of achieving inclusive and sustained growth and improvement in the quality of life of citizens. To assist Asia and Pacific progress on its unfinished development agenda over the longer term and to reflect ongoing developments, ADB is starting to prepare a new corporate strategy to guide its future operations. This strategy will position ADB to more effectively assist the region''s economic and social transformation that is necessary for it to overcome ongoing and emerging development challenges and to drive it to the next stage of its development. |
