|Description||The project readiness financing (PRF) will facilitate a smooth transition from preparation to implementation of the proposed Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Project and will minimize contracting delays and speed up the initial disbursements for the project.|
|Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy||The PRF will finance the engagement of consulting firms and individual consultants to (i) conduct surveys required for the detailed engineering design of selected priority project components; (ii) deliver detailed engineering design and bidding documents for selected priority project components; (iii) support Solomon Water in procuring project goods, equipment, and civil works contracts, including bid evaluation and preparation of bid evaluation reports as well as the award of contracts; (iv) strengthen the capacity of Solomon Water's project management unit (PMU); and (v) assist Solomon Water in preparing and implementing safeguard plans and community consultations.|
