Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy Despite the efforts and achievements made by the member states and secretariat of BIMSTEC, ADB, and other development partners, considerable challenges persist, and, as a consequence, opportunities in trade facilitation, tourism promotion, capacity development, and transport connectivity in the BIMSTEC region remain untapped. More work needs to be done to further RCI initiatives in the region.

Status of Implementation Progress (Outputs, Activities, and Issues)

- Under output 1, the final reports on the analytical studies on tourism, trade facilitation, and transport financing have been submitted to BIMSTEC Secretariat for final review and clearance before publication.

- Virtual workshops were held to present the findings to the delegates of BIMSTEC member states and gather feedback from stakeholders.

- Adoption of the BIMSTEC Master Plan for Transport Connectivity in the 5th BIMSTEC Summit held on 30 March 2022

- Under Output 2, BIMSTEC Secretariat has organized the first capacity building activity under the TA. The training, which was held face-to-face in Moulvibazar, Bangladesh on 13-14 April 2022, focused on team building, leadership, and emotional intelligence for officials and staff of BIMSTEC Secretariat.
