Regional : Using Digital Technology to Improve National Health Financing in Asia and the Pacific
The knowledge and support technical assistance (TA) (formerly Using Digital Technology to Improve National Health Insurance in Asia and the Pacific) will help the developing member countries (DMCs) of the Asian Development Bank achieve universal health coverage (UHC) by supporting the development and adoption of digital national health insurance (NHI) information systems. The TA will support the implementation of ADB's Strategy 2030, particularly Operational Priority 1 (addressing remaining poverty and reduce inequalities) and its focus area of enhancing human capital and social protection for all.

Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy | Driven by the need to support economic and human capital development, countries across Asia and the Pacific are strengthening national UHC strategies. Achieving UHC means that all people, particularly vulnerable populations such as the poor, the elderly, people with disability, women, and children, can access quality health services without incurring financial hardship, resulting in healthier populations. However, many DMCs face major challenges in making progress towards UHC. | ||||||||
