Status of Implementation Progress (Outputs, Activities, and Issues)
The project was approved on 8 December 2020. The project has two components to develop optimal models and policies for low carbon energy infrastructure, component 1 for rural areas and component 2 for small and medium towns. Consultants for the 2 components are already engaged. Surveys for the rural areas component have been conducted. A virtual interim review mission was conducted on 8-11 July 2022 and partial consultants' outputs were presented. Partial results of the TA were presented also in an international forum on 8 September 2022. A TA review mission was held in Beijing and Tianjin from 10-13 July 2023 to discuss the partial TA results and work progress of the consultants and visit one study site. On 14 July 2023 an interim workshop was conducted in Beijing to disseminate the partial results of the TA and receive feedback from the EA and other stakeholders.
