Description The proposed South Asia Subregional Economic Cooperation Customs and Logistics Reforms Program is a programmatic policy-based loan (PBL) that aims to improve logistics in Nepal through the preparation and implementation of the new Trade Logistics Development Policy (TLDP), and continue reforms in customs through the Customs Reform and Modernization (CRM) Plan 2021-2026.
Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy The proposed program intends to sustain the reforms implemented under the SASEC Customs Reform and Modernization for Trade Facilitation Program to be complemented by policy interventions that will (i) support implementation of the proposed Customs Act, (ii) improve supply chain of critical goods during pandemics, (iii) enhance export competitiveness , and (iv) build capacities of public and private sector to ensure sustainability of interventions.
